Setting the Current Source
|
To set the current source, use the Set Current Source option in either the Connection menu or the tool palette. |
The current source indicates which source (database) is active.
Using the Set Current Source option is similar to using the reader level (end-user control) Choose Source button, with the following important differences.
Set Current Source:
Is available at author level.
Changes the current source for ONLY Hotword Connection. If you are using other TB Connection products (Content Connection or Media Connection), their current source remains unchanged.
When the current source is set (either with the author tool or by the end-user) it is stored in two places:
As a book property, TBC_currentHotwordSource.
To the .tcn file, under the [current] section, as HotwordSource.
The current source is used to:
Determine which database to use for read/write during development, and
Check if a source change is required when your book opens. When a user opens your application, TB Connection will compare the current source to the default source. Only if they differ will TB Connection swap sources (load content from a different source).
To select a current source, simply click on one from the list of defined sources.
